Bangkok: 'Lawyer Aing' is preparing to apply for bail for a prominent female doctor involved in a case concerning the illegal ordering of sleeping pills. Police are currently conducting an urgent interrogation of the doctor, who has expressed significant stress and requested to contact her family prior to further proceedings.
According to Thai News Agency, Lawyer Nitisak Meekhuad, also known as Lawyer Aing, has been tasked with representing the female doctor, who holds the rank of Police Colonel and is affiliated with the Police General Hospital. She was apprehended at a condominium located in the Ratchadamri area of Bangkok. Lawyer Aing stated that the doctor is undergoing questioning by the officers at the Narcotics Suppression Bureau 1. He plans to participate in the interrogation process and has expressed intentions to request bail for her. Should bail be denied at the investigation stage, Lawyer Aing is prepared to apply for bail at the Ratchada Criminal Court.
The doctor's family, traveling from Surin Province, is reportedly under considerable stress due to the situation. It has been reported that the doctor allegedly ordered sleeping pills for use at her clinic. These pills are classified as controlled substances, leading to charges of jointly possessing and distributing Category 2 and 4 psychotropic substances. The large quantities in which the pills were ordered and stored prompted the issuance of an arrest warrant.
The investigation team is diligently working on the case, preparing to hand the female doctor over to investigators for questioning alongside her lawyer. Throughout the questioning process, the doctor has exhibited signs of stress and has requested to reach out to her family before continuing with the proceedings.
