Launch of the ‘Thai Consular’ App to Enhance Services for Thais Abroad

Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has unveiled the 'Thai Consular' application, aimed at enhancing services for Thais living overseas by making them more convenient, fast, and modern, thereby providing peace of mind.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Laliwan Kanchanachari, Assistant Minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, oversaw the launch event of the 'Thai Consular' application at the Department of Consular Affairs. This initiative marks a significant advancement in upgrading services and offering efficient, modern, and accessible care for Thais residing abroad.

The Assistant Minister emphasized the Ministry's critical mission to safeguard and assist Thais abroad, particularly during emergencies like natural disasters and unrest. The increasing number of Thais traveling internationally necessitates efficient and modern tools to deliver timely assistance. The Consular Department developed the application as a one-stop center, providing crucial tools for requesting assistance, receiving updates from embassies and consulates-general, and planning activities and travel.

The application also features a registration system for Thais abroad, collecting data to inform policy-making, planning, and accurately estimating the Thai diaspora, which aids in effective emergency evacuations. Designed with cybersecurity in mind, it ensures user data protection while enhancing consular services to be more user-friendly and contemporary.

The 'Thai Consular' app and its registration system have integrated platforms that streamline requests for consular services, news updates, and emergency assistance, available 24/7. This initiative aims to bolster the stability, confidence, and safety of Thais traveling or residing overseas.
