Kusumalawati Ready for Legal Battle Against Anutin-Suksomruay

Bangkok: Ms. Kusumalawati Sirikomut, a former candidate for the Senate, expressed her readiness to face a lawsuit announced by the Bhumjaithai Party, stating she is not afraid and is prepared to counter-sue party members Anutin Charnvirakul and Suksamruay Wanthaniyakul this Friday. She emphasized her belief in the justice system and her commitment to protecting democratic principles.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kusumalawati stated that the Bhumjaithai Party's decision to pursue legal action against her following her interview that allegedly damaged the party was expected. She has already taken measures to protect herself, including preparing documents and information to support her case. Ms. Kusumalawati emphasized her confidence in the justice process, asserting that her actions are aimed at safeguarding democracy and that she possesses substantial evidence to support her claims.

Addressing concerns about her safety, Ms. Kusumalawati mentioned that she has requested witness protection from the Department of Special Investigation (DSI). She highlighted the potential influence of powerful individuals but maintained that she is unafraid, believing firmly in the righteousness of her cause. Ms. Kusumalawati reiterated her readiness to speak out on matters beneficial to the public, reinforcing her determination to pursue the legal battle.

Ms. Kusumalawati also revealed her intention to take legal action against Ms. Suksamruay Wanthaniyakul, MP for Amnat Charoen, for defamation. She accused Ms. Suksamruay of making derogatory remarks about her during a meeting of the House of Representatives' NACC Committee. Additionally, she plans to sue Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, on charges of defamation by advertising.

Ms. Kusumalawati expressed confidence in her legal strategy, citing past successes in similar cases. She underscored her determination to hold those accountable who, she claims, have wronged her, and she remains undeterred by the legal challenges ahead. Her legal team has already prepared the necessary documents and evidence to support her case, and she is resolute in her belief that truth and justice will prevail.
