Bangkok: Ms. Kusumalawati Sirikomut, a former MP of Mahasarakham and former Senate candidate, has submitted a formal petition to Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, seeking the removal of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul from his positions as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Mr. Somkid Chuekong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, received the documents on behalf of the Prime Minister.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kusumalawati argues that Mr. Anutin lacks the legitimacy to continue in his governmental roles. Her petition, which has also been submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), lists several allegations against Mr. Anutin. These include issues related to land ownership in Khao Kradong, Buriram Province, and the approval of a runway construction in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Additionally, the petition accuses Mr. Anutin of collusion in the election of Senate members and the controversial purchase of Favipilavir during his time as Minister of Public Health. Furthermore, allegations of corruption related to the construction of the Parliament building are included as supporting evidence for her claims.
