Krit Silpachai Claims Cobra Vote Allegations Are Genuine, Not Fabricated

Chiang Mai: "Krit" insists that the Line chat about buying a cobra was not a fiction. "Krit" fights with Chiang Mai, responds to the name "Thai Sangsan" as a party that wants to suck, but insists that the Line chat about buying the cobra is not a self-made story. There is a sensation, showing the phone number of a gas station businessman to the media.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Krit Silpachai, Rayong MP of the Prachachon Party, held a press conference confirming that he was offered money to be a cobra to vote for confidence in Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, in the no-confidence vote on March 26. He confirmed that the whole incident really happened. The person who was the witness was Mr. Phongsathon Sonpetchnarin, Rayong MP of the Prachachon Party. As for the relationship of the person who acted as a mediator to contact the person who wanted to buy him to be a cobra, they actually knew each other because he was the son of a friend of his father. As for the person who wanted to buy him, he did not know him but he was a local politician.

Mr. Krit mentioned the case of taking the Line chat conversation data to file a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) or an agency to take action against people who want to buy or not, saying that he thinks that this matter can be done, so he will do it. Now, he has informed the secretary of the Prachachon Party and the party will meet on April 1 to discuss how to proceed with this matter. If the evidence reaches the EC, we will exercise our rights according to the process or channels provided by the law. In addition, this matter must be investigated to see that the people involved do not hold political positions, including himself being concerned about the witnesses that he has come out to reveal. The people who called him were also uncomfortable and there was no reason for him to create a trend for this matter. He has clear evidence.

When asked again whether the person who will buy it to be a cobra is from the Thai Sangsan Party, Mr. Krit briefly stated, 'The name is similar to the Thai Sang Thai Party.' However, he checked this political party and found that the Royal Gazette stated that it had ceased to be a political party since January 2023 because it did not have enough members as required by law. Therefore, if it were to file a complaint with the Election Commission about the wrongdoings of a political party, it would be of no use. However, he wanted to reflect to society that Thai politics still has incidents like this.

When asked again whether the information could be linked to people in the government, Mr. Krit said that it was not that clear, but if we look at the phenomenon, try to see which MPs from the opposition parties voted in favor of the Prime Minister. There may be many parties. This matter may be related to one of the parties in the government that is a coalition government that may need more MPs to negotiate something.

'I see it from two angles. The first angle is that he might want to trick me, to make me fall into some kind of trap. I am indifferent because I think it can happen to anyone. If I had agreed, he might not have actually paid. In the end, I would have definitely been screwed. As far as I know, no one in the party has been screwed. I still wonder why it had to be me,' said Mr. Krit.

When asked about Ms. Paethongtarn saying that this matter does not make sense because the government already has a lot of votes, Mr. Krit said that he agreed with that. He thought that buying more votes for the government would not be the case. However, if this mission is successful, there are two angles: the first is to definitely discredit the People's Party, and the second is to show the potential to those in power that they can be a broker to find MPs in order to negotiate the adjustment of the upcoming Cabinet.

Reporters reported that after the press conference was over, Mr. Krit revealed the phone number of the businesswoman who wanted to buy him to be a cobra to the media.
