King and Queen of Bhutan Pay Respects to Thai Queen Mother


Bangkok: The King and Queen of Bhutan paid their respects to the royal remains of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of the Kingdom of Bhutan, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, laid a wreath before the royal urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. They also signed their names and offered their condolences. They are also scheduled to attend the royal merit-making ceremony and chanting for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace later that evening.



According to Thai News Agency, the King of Bhutan shares a close bond with the Thai royal family and holds Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in high esteem. Meanwhile, the Thai people also hold the King and Queen of Bhutan in high esteem and are deeply grateful for their kindness in coming to pay their respects.
