Bangkok: Mr. Jatuporn Promphan, a lecturer at the People's Fusion Group, addressed the rally organized by the United Power of the Land, Protecting Thai Sovereignty group, urging the Prime Minister to resign and the coalition parties to withdraw. He emphasized that the rally would conclude by 9:00 p.m., though no decision has been made regarding the escalation of the demonstration.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jatuporn announced that following the national anthem at 6:00 p.m., there would be an announcement before he delivers a major speech, which he will conclude. He highlighted that the primary issue on their agenda is the resignation of the Prime Minister and the withdrawal of coalition parties, marking it as a national priority. The rally, he insisted, is a demonstration of power, countering underestimations about the number of participants. Initially, the organizers anticipated around 3,000 attendees, with road closures on the Phahonyothin Island and Din Daeng sides.
Mr. Jatuporn expressed that post-July 1, the future of the movement will become clearer, driven by the existing mechanisms, albeit temporarily forestalling inevitable outcomes. While discussions on escalating the rally have not occurred, the focus remains on demanding the Prime Minister's resignation and coalition withdrawal, emphasizing national sovereignty. He described the rally as the commencement of protecting national sovereignty.
He reiterated that the rally would end at 9:00 p.m., with future actions dependent on forthcoming signals. Any escalation will target issues of national discourse, as Mr. Jatuporn asserted the necessity of preventing the current government from continuing its administration, allowing it to conclude in accordance with legal and constitutional protocols.
