Japan Recruits Thai Male Workers in the IM Japan Program

Bangkok: Japan is actively recruiting male Thai workers as part of the IM Japan program, with applications open from today until August 31, 2025. Female workers have a designated application window from July 21-27, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government, in collaboration with the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor, is facilitating applications for Thai technical trainees. These trainees will have the opportunity to travel to Japan for internships in 2025 under cooperation with the organization IM Japan. The program stands out due to its no-cost application process, and it includes a four-month Japanese language training course, complete with free food and accommodation. Successful interns will be awarded a certificate of technical internship and a career support fund amounting to 600,000 yen upon completion.

Mr. Jirayu further detailed that the 4th round of applications in 2025 is exclusively open to male candidates, divided into two rounds: the first round from July 1 to July 31, 2025, and the second round from August 1 to August 31, 2025. Applicants are required to undergo a selection exam at the Bangkok Examination Center. Applications are to be submitted via the Thai Overseas Labor Administration Electronic System (E-Service) on the website https://toea.doe.go.th, which is accessible 24/7 during the application period.

Additionally, a separate announcement has been made for the 5th round of recruitment in 2025 targeting female applicants. The application period is set between July 21-27, 2025, also through the E-Service system. Female applicants are required to take a physical fitness test and a written exam at the Bangkok Examination Center on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Mr. Jirayu emphasized the importance of this opportunity for Thai workers to enhance their professional skills, gain technological insights from Japan, and apply this knowledge to further their personal and national development. He reiterated that there are no fees involved in the application process.
