Bangkok: Expanding the investigation into the mastermind behind the murder of DJ Tete, who fled the country to escape charges. Investigators went to the area for the second round to re-examine details near where the body of 'DJ Tete' was found, and to expand the investigation into the mastermind behind the murder, who fled a drug case abroad since 2017.
According to Thai News Agency, officers responsible for the case traveled to the area near where the body of 'DJ Tete' was found for the second time to search for additional evidence. The route taken was no different from the first time. The officers still blocked off the area to prevent the media from getting close to where they were searching for evidence. The dense forest and sugarcane plantation necessitated the use of four-wheel-drive vehicles to reach the location. However, details about the case remain undisclosed to reporters.
For the suspects in the case, one person has been arrested and four arrest warrants have been issued. All of them face serious charges including premeditated murder, hiding a corpse, nighttime theft, illegal possession of firearms, and harbouring bandits.
Mr. Sutat, also known as "Mui," is reportedly the mastermind and was motivated by jealousy over DJ Tete's involvement with his girlfriend. With several arrest warrants for drug-related activities, he fled to Myanmar in 2017, seeking refuge with a major drug lord in Phayatungsu District. His henchmen were arrested in 2021 with 59,200 methamphetamine pills during the "Saiap Tanintharyi" operation, which uncovered large quantities of methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, ketamine, and heroin, along with assets valued over 30 million baht. In 2022, he was listed as a major drug suspect with a 1 million baht reward for his capture.
Authorities suspect that 'Mui' may have orchestrated the murder from a neighboring country through local subordinates. Four suspects, including his girlfriend 'Nam,' remain at large and may have joined him across the border. Officials are actively expanding the investigation and tracking down the remaining suspects. Coordination with security forces and Interpol is underway to locate and extradite Mr. Mui and his accomplices for prosecution.
