Bangkok: Police surrounded and arrested a 40-year-old husband who shot his 36-year-old wife to death in his car before fleeing to hide in a house on Soi Petchkasem 67. A search of the crime scene found three firearms. According to Thai News Agency, police at Phetkasem Police Station received a report of a body found in a Bangkok-registered HRV parked in Soi Phetkasem 67, Intersection 8. Initial reports indicate that the perpetrator is Mr. Mipapat, 40, the husband, and the deceased is Ms. Nanticha, 36, the wife. Police checked CCTV footage and found that the perpetrator was still inside the house, so they surrounded the house, which was a townhouse. Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased arrived to inquire about the incident. Upon receiving the police report, the relatives looked stressed and had tears in their eyes. They reported that Mr. Mipapat had been in a relationship with the deceased for decades and had 3 children together. Police cordoned off the area for more than 3 hours until midnight. While they w ere about to clear the area, Mr. Mipapat raised his hands and surrendered. He was taken to Phetkasem Police Station for questioning, along with the 3 firearms found at the scene. Asked locals in the area, they said that at 11:00 AM, they saw this car parked in the middle of the road with a man getting out of the car. So they went to ask him to move the car to avoid traffic. Then the man moved the car to park on the right side of the road and parked with the engine running from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. It is expected that the car may have run out of gas, causing it to stop on its own. Then someone called the police to come and investigate. Initially, the police found the body of a woman, believed to be the man's wife, dead in the car. But at that time, they did not know the cause of death.
