Bangkok: Huai Khwang Police Station, in collaboration with various local authorities, conducted a thorough inspection of entertainment venues in the Huai Khwang area as part of the "No Drugs No Dealers" initiative. The operation aimed to ensure compliance with laws prohibiting drug use and distribution in the district.
According to Thai News Agency, the inspection took place on August 6, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM. Key figures in the operation included Pol. Col. Sakkaya Saengwan, Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 1, along with Pol. Col. Prasopchok Iampinij, Superintendent of Huai Khwang Police Station. They were supported by Pol. Lt. Col. Ekkarat Malawanno and Pol. Lt. Col. Ruchipas Thira-amornbun, as well as a 20-person operational team from the Huai Khwang Police Station. Officers from the Child and Women's Welfare Division, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), led by Ms. Suwanna Wongwanich, and the Huai Khwang District Office, represented by Mr. Sombat Krueakiratitham, also participated in the operation.
During the inspection on Ratchadaphisek Road, officers found no individuals under the age of 20 within the establishments. They conducted searches of patrons, dressing rooms, and lockers, uncovering no weapons or illegal items. The operation also revealed no evidence of drug use, weapon possession, prostitution, or human trafficking activities within the venues.
Urine tests administered to all service users resulted in one positive case of ketamine use. Business operators in the area are being urged to adhere strictly to the law to prevent any future violations.
