Hot Weather and Summer Storms Expected in Northern Thailand

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the northern region of Thailand, forecasting hot weather accompanied by summer storms, including thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in some areas. Meanwhile, the southern region is expected to experience thunderstorms in certain areas.

According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department's weather forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that a high-pressure area or moderate cold air mass from China has extended to cover the upper part of Laos and is expected to reach the eastern part of the North, the Northeast, and the South China Sea. Additionally, southwesterly and southern winds are affecting the North and the Northeast. The upper part of Thailand is generally hot, with some areas in the Central region being extremely hot. These conditions may lead to summer storms, including thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and hail in certain areas. Residents in the upper part of Thailand are advised to exercise caution, avoiding travel through storm-affected areas and staying clear of open areas, large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers are urged to reinforce their fruit trees and take steps to prevent potential damage to their crops and livestock, while also maintaining their health during the shifting weather conditions.

In the southern region, easterly and southeasterly winds are impacting the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea, leading to continued thunderstorms in these areas. The Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are expected to have waves approximately 1 meter high, with higher waves exceeding 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Sailors are advised to avoid navigating through thunderstorm-affected areas in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
