Trang: A heated altercation at a kindergarten in Trang Province has led to a police investigation after a parent allegedly kicked a 6-year-old boy, causing the child to fall and sustain injuries. The incident, captured on video and shared by the Facebook page "Tan Pao," shows a middle-aged man approaching the young boy and delivering a kick to his face, resulting in the boy falling face down. The violent act has drawn widespread criticism online, with many condemning the parent's actions as excessive.
According to Thai News Agency, the mother of the injured boy reported the incident to the Trang City Police Station on May 15, 2025. She stated that the altercation occurred around 2:30 p.m. after she was informed by the teacher that her son had been involved in a fight with a classmate, causing a minor injury to the other child. Despite offering an apology to the teacher and the other boy's guardian, the father of the injured classmate suddenly kicked her son, leading to further injuries. The boy was subsequently taken to Thonburi Trang Hospital, where a doctor's examination confirmed bruises on his back, requiring approximately a week to heal.
On May 16, 2025, the accused parent was summoned by the police to acknowledge the charge of causing physical harm. However, he continues to deny any wrongdoing, asserting that he merely intended to speak with the child.
Family members of the injured boy have expressed their determination to pursue legal action without compromise. They revealed that the boy underwent two physical examinations following the incident and still bears a bruise on his right collarbone, presumably from the kick. Concerned for their son's safety, the family has refrained from public interviews but reassured the boy that the individual responsible has been apprehended by the police, which has helped alleviate his fear of returning to school.
Despite acknowledging the charges, the accused parent maintains his denial, insisting that he did not physically assault the child. The family of the injured boy, however, remains resolute in seeking justice through legal channels.
