Bangkok: The Government Complex is enhancing its green space with the addition of a new 6.9-rai park as part of the "Healthy and Green City" initiative, providing a recreational area for city residents. According to Thai News Agency, the large government center on Chaeng Watthana Road has been progressively incorporating new "green corners." Recently, Thanarak Asset Development Co., Ltd. (DAD Asset Development), the management firm overseeing the Chaeng Watthana Government Center, converted the green space southeast of the Ratthaprasanphakdi Building (Building B) into a 6.9-rai park. This new park is not merely a public space, but also a venue for activities, relaxation, and wellness. It will become the sixth public park at the Chaeng Watthana Government Center, with completion anticipated by the end of 2025. Dr. Nalikatipak Saengsanit, Managing Director of DAD, expressed that the park will act as an "oasis" for visitors and workers in the area, offering shade, beauty, and a reduction in pollution and heat . It aims to serve as a public space where city dwellers can meet, exercise, and conduct inclusive activities, thus fostering a better society. With this addition, the Chaloem Phrakiat Government Complex will boast a total green space of 47.85 rai, combining with the five parks DAD has already landscaped. "This sixth garden evolved from a shallow pond next to Building B into a green space. It aids in temperature reduction and offers additional recreational space. We envision the Government Complex as more than just a place for officials; it should be a space where the public can relax and engage in healthy activities," stated Dr. Nalikatipak. DAD's goal is to transform the Government Complex Chaloem Phrakiat into a significant 'Healthy and Green City' area in Bangkok. This development includes public parks for everyone to utilize for services, activities, relaxation, and exercise. The six parks in the area feature the Sky Garden with urban farming, the Welcoming Garden, and other gardens strategically posit ioned around the complex, including the newly developed southeast garden of Building B. Beyond landscaping, DAD promotes "Green Building - Green Society" principles, aligning with ESG and BCG Model principles, focusing on energy conservation and creating a health-friendly environment. This effort aims to transform the Government Complex into the country's first Green Government Complex, offering a balance between urban life and nature.
