Nonthaburi: The government has extended an invitation to the public to purchase OTOP products at the "OTOP Midyear 2025" event scheduled from June 7-15 at Muang Thong Thani.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom Polpornklang, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the Community Development Department, under the Ministry of Interior, is urging citizens to support OTOP manufacturers and entrepreneurs. The event, themed 'OTOP: Modern, Up-to-date, Sustainable Thai Economy,' will showcase products from all regions of Thailand, available for purchase at Challenger Halls 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province. For those unable to attend, there will be opportunities to support community-crafted products through online platforms.
Mr. Karom emphasized that the OTOP Midyear 2025 event serves as a significant platform for promoting OTOP product marketing and acts as a mid-year economic stimulus for Thailand. It aims to strengthen the grassroots economy and establish connections with the regional economy to generate community income. The event features various activities, including an exhibition in honor of His Majesty the King, a display of products from partner agencies, and a showcase of OTOP 3-5 star products with over 2,000 booths. Additional highlights include an OTOP tasting zone, an OTOP Trader zone, and an OTOP artist zone where over 40 artists will display and sell their creations.
The event will also introduce a First Lady zone featuring fabrics with unique provincial identities, and a special zone dedicated to integrating Thai OTOP into the online marketplace. This initiative involves collaboration with private sector partners to expand distribution channels, present OTOP products on social media, and engage potential buyers through modern content and activities. This effort aims to add value and interest to the products while providing direct connections between buyers and manufacturers.
Mr. Karom concluded by inviting all Thai citizens to participate in the event to support the creation of opportunities, careers, and income for OTOP producers and entrepreneurs. The event will be held at Challenger Halls 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Thani Exhibition and Convention Center, and products can also be supported via various online platforms.
