Government Announces Nationwide Celebrations for Queen’s Birthday

Bangkok: The government has extended an invitation to all Thai citizens to participate in activities celebrating Her Majesty the Queen's birthday on June 3, 2025. Mr. Karom Polpornklang, Deputy Government Spokesperson, disclosed that the Ministry of Interior is tasked with orchestrating nationwide events to honor Her Majesty on this occasion. Activities include setting up tables with the Queen's portrait and royal offerings, venue decorations, and organizing ceremonies such as Buddhist chanting, alms-giving, and candle lighting to offer royal merit and blessings. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom elaborated that the provincial governors and district chiefs will preside over the ceremonies at designated locations such as provincial city halls or district meeting halls. The day-long activities begin with a Buddhist chanting ceremony and alms-giving at 7:30 a.m., followed by a royal offering and wreath-laying ceremony at 5:30 p.m., and conclude with a candle-lighting ceremony at 7:19 p.m. Additionally, v olunteer and charity activities are scheduled throughout June, with participation from various sectors to mark the occasion. Mr. Karom also announced a special activity organized by the Ministry of Interior on June 2, 2025, at Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram Ratchaworawihan in Bangkok. This event, starting at 6:30 a.m., will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, with His Holiness Somdech Phra Maha Wirawong leading the monks in receiving alms to offer royal merit. The government has invited the public to express their loyalty by signing the book of best wishes online at the Royal Household Bureau's website from June 2 to June 4, 2025.
