GH Bank and First Army Region Collaborate to Provide Housing for the Disadvantaged

Bangkok: GH Bank, in collaboration with the First Army Area, has delivered houses to the poor under a significant housing improvement and repair project across Bangkok and 25 central provinces. Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, President of the Government Housing Bank (GHB), announced that the GHB, together with the First Army Region, is actively working to enhance the quality of life for underprivileged communities by constructing and repairing a total of 15 houses. The project includes the construction of six new houses and the repair of nine existing ones.

According to Thai News Agency, the Government Housing Bank has allocated a budget for construction materials and essential consumer goods, while the First Army Region oversees the construction process. Recently, the construction of one house was completed and handed over in a ceremony presided over by Lieutenant General Amorn Boonsuya, Commander of the First Army Region, in Soi Kusonthong, Sathorn District, Bangkok.

The housing renovation and repair initiative has been operational since 2018 under the First Army Area's efforts to improve safety, public quality of life, and hygiene through the construction and renovation of homes. This project is part of the Royal Volunteer Project "We Do Good Deeds with Our Hearts," which focuses on societal contribution through collective efforts. The initiative also aligns with the Government Housing Bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy, emphasizing housing support particularly for low- and middle-income groups, in line with its mission of "Making Thais Home." The recent house handover ceremony at Soi Kusonthong is a testament to the ongoing collaboration between GHB and the First Army Area.
