GH Bank and First Army Area Deliver Houses to the Underprivileged in Honor of the King’s Birthday

Bangkok: GH Bank, in collaboration with the First Army Area, delivered houses to the poor in honor of His Majesty the King on the occasion of his birthday on July 28, 2025. The Government Housing Bank (GHB) and the First Army Region have undertaken a significant project to construct and repair housing for the underprivileged across Bangkok and 25 central provinces. This initiative is part of a broader effort to honor His Majesty the King on his birthday, showcasing the bank's commitment to corporate social responsibility.

According to Thai News Agency, the project has facilitated the construction of six new houses and the repair of nine existing ones, thereby enhancing living conditions for the disadvantaged. Mr. Kamolpop Virapala, President of the Government Housing Bank, emphasized the project's role in improving the quality of life for the underprivileged. The GHB provided the necessary budget for construction materials and essential consumer goods, while the First Army Area took charge of the construction process. A house in Khok Phuttha Subdistrict, Pho Thong District, Ang Thong Province, has already been completed and handed over, with Maj. Gen. Natthadet Chantrangsu, Deputy Commander of the First Army Area, presiding over the handover ceremony.

The initiative, which started in 2018, is part of the Royal Volunteer Project "We Do Good Deeds with Our Hearts." It aims to ensure the safety and hygiene of homes, improving public quality of life. This effort aligns with the Government Housing Bank's sustained commitment to providing housing solutions as part of its CSR policy. The bank's mission, "Making Thais Home," extends beyond providing housing loans to fostering homeownership among low- and middle-income earners. The recent handover ceremony in Ang Thong Province marks another milestone in this long-standing mission.
