Gen. Prawit Signs Petition for No Confidence Motion Against Prime Minister

Bangkok: Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan has joined in signing a petition aimed at censuring the Prime Minister, citing concerns over the government's use of power and its potential impact on national sovereignty.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, secretary-general of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), stated that Gen. Prawit, who leads the PPRP, has directed the party's Members of Parliament to collaborate with opposition parties in submitting a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra. The motion is being filed under Section 151 of the constitution due to a lack of confidence in the Prime Minister's leadership abilities.

The concerns largely stem from an audio clip of a conversation with Hun Sen, which has raised questions about Ms. Shinawatra's negotiation skills on the international stage. Gen. Prawit and the PPRP believe that her actions could disadvantage Thailand in preserving its sovereignty. Despite the incomplete formation of a new cabinet, Gen. Prawit asserted that all PPRP MPs are prepared to support the no-confidence debate against the current government leadership.
