Bangkok: Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, the leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, has announced the appointment of Suradet Yasawat as the party's new deputy leader with responsibilities for the upper northern region. During a press conference, Gen Prawit was joined by deputy party leader Santi Promphat and party secretary Paiboon Nititawan to introduce Suradet, who brings a wealth of political experience to the role.
According to Thai News Agency, Suradet Yasawat previously served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism and Sports, a senator for Phayao Province, and a member of the House of Representatives. Suradet expressed his long-standing respect for Gen Prawit and noted that this appointment marks his first opportunity to work closely with the Palang Pracharath Party. He is committed to identifying suitable election candidates in the upper northern region, leveraging his past experience as a senator in Phayao Province.
Suradet also conveyed his willingness to contribute to the party's efforts beyond the northern region, should Gen Prawit find his involvement beneficial. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party's influence and organization in the upper north of Thailand.
