PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), a global leader in plastics and chemicals for creating quality of life, and TPBI Public Company Limited (TPBI Group), a leading manufacturer and exporter of integrated packaging in Thailand, recognized by leading customers around the world, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding on innovation cooperation for product development and sustainable plastic management under the concept of 'Innovative Plastics for Sustainability' at the Customer Solutions Center (CSC), Energy Complex, Building A, 1st Floor.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Saroj Phuttathammwong, Chief Operating Officer of GC Value-Added Chemicals Business Group, stated that the collaboration is the result of a shared vision of both companies, emphasizing the importance of 'sustainable development' and 'innovation' for long-term growth. The partnership aims to elevate research and development standards in plastic products, focusing on environmental impacts at every stage-from material selection, production processes, and usage to reuse. The collaboration intends to establish a circular economy system through joint studies and prototype projects organized under three main workgroups: Design for Recyclability, Productivity and Efficiency, and Circular Economy.
Mr. Somsak Borisutthanakul, Chairman of the Executive Board of TPBI Group, highlighted that since the establishment of GC's manufacturing plant, the relationship between TPBI Group and GC has been more than just a business partnership; it has been a 'thinking partnership' driving sustainable development through various innovation projects. The signing of the MOU marks not just the beginning of a new collaboration but also a consolidation of existing efforts to create more continuity and depth. The collaboration allows TPBI and its subsidiary, TAK Packaging, to work systematically and creatively with GC, aiming to create innovations effective in product development and sustainable plastic management.
