Four Young Men Surrender Following Assault Incident in Khon Kaen

Khon Kaen: A gang of four young men attacked a stranger, but they eventually surrendered due to the pressure from social media.

According to Thai News Agency, the page "Jay Moi V+" posted a clip of a male victim wearing a white shirt being attacked. Her female friends tried to intervene to stop the attack, but it was unsuccessful. The attackers continued to attack until they were satisfied before driving away immediately. This incident occurred in the parking lot in front of a restaurant on the road behind the university, Sila Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen. There is information that one of the perpetrators, who called themselves the "4 Kumarn" gang, was an employee of the restaurant. Later, the owner of the restaurant posted a complaint about the attack and announced that he had fired the employee.

Later yesterday evening, the victim filed a complaint at Khon Kaen City Police Station, stating that she went to eat at the restaurant where the incident occurred with a group of four female friends. During that time, the group of perpetrators walked up to her table and asked her, 'Is there something wrong with your eyes?' She replied, 'Yes.' They almost got into a fight in the restaurant, but the staff came to stop them and invited the group of perpetrators to leave the restaurant. When the restaurant closed, she and her friends walked to get in their car, and the group of perpetrators drove up and stopped in front of her and immediately got out and attacked her. She admitted that they did not know each other beforehand.

The latest this afternoon, 9 February 2015, the group of perpetrators who call themselves the Gang of 4 Kumarn, consisting of Mr. Oat, age 19, Mr. Ohm, age 19, Mr. Soda, age 19 (the store employee where the incident occurred), sneaked in to meet the investigation police to show themselves as the people who appeared in the clip. Only Mr. Moo, age 20, one of the perpetrators, did not show up. The police recorded the statements and information and sent them to the investigators to support the case. From now on, they will expedite the investigation results of the victim's wounds to be used and will call the perpetrators in to acknowledge the charges. The results are expected next week.
