Forensic Evidence Collected and Sent for Standard Inspection

Bangkok: The commander of the Central Institute of Forensic Science entered the area to collect various sized pieces of steel for standard inspection. He is preparing to go to the area to collect more pieces of cement, but must wait for the mission to find the trapped people to be completed before proceeding.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Watee Aswutmangkur, Commander of the Central Forensic Science Division, revealed that yesterday, officers from the Central Forensic Science Division, together with the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning, went to collect samples of steel parts from the scene of the Office of the Auditor General. He stated that yesterday, officers randomly collected samples of steel of each size in 4 zones: Zone A, B, C, and D. Each sample of each type of steel in the area will be randomly collected, measuring 1 meter each, and handed over to the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand to verify whether it complies with the standards.

In addition to randomly collecting steel samples, officials will now enter the area to collect the remains of the cement structure for further examination, as this is currently not possible because officials are still digging the structure to help those trapped under the construction of the building. The main mission of the Forensic Science Office at this time is the issue of examining the standards of the construction structure of the Office of the Auditor General.
