Tel Aviv: Foreign Minister - Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces arrived in Israel, preparing to visit 5 Thais and zooming in with the Prime Minister in Thailand to encourage the workers.
According to Thai News Agency, at 7:30 a.m. local time in Tel Aviv, Israel, which is 5 hours behind Thailand time, Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, together with General Songwit Noonpakdee, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, arrived at Tel Aviv Airport, Israel. They were welcomed by Mr. Gil Haskel, Director-General of the Department of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, and Ms. Pannapa Chandrarom, Ambassador, along with their delegation.
Mr. Maris expressed gratitude to the Israeli government for their assistance in caring for the five Thais who were released as hostages, as well as for the coordination efforts with friendly countries during this situation.
In the afternoon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs plans to visit the 5 Thais at Al-Shamir Medical Center. During this visit, he will hold a Zoom meeting with the Prime Minister in Thailand to extend encouragement to the 5 Thais.
Following the medical center visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with Thai agricultural workers and engage in discussions with HE Mr. Gideon Sa'ar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel. The meeting aims to thank the Israeli government and discuss plans for repatriating the five Thais back to Thailand.
General Songwit Noonpakdee, the Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, is accompanying the delegation to support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' mission. A Thai military medical team has been actively coordinating the rescue efforts of Thai hostages with Israel throughout the process.
