Five Candidates Advance in Selection for New Oil Fund Office Director

Bangkok: Revealing the names of 5 people who have passed the qualifications to be recruited as the new Director of the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC). The Oil Fund Office (OFPO) announced five names of candidates who passed the qualification examination for the new Oil Fund Office (OFPO) director position. They are scheduled to interview and present their vision on September 3, 2025. The new Oil Fund Office director is expected to be appointed by September.

According to Thai News Agency, the progress of the Oil Fund Office (OFPO) director recruitment process is underway, with a subcommittee chaired by Mr. Wattanapong Kurovat, Director-General of the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), having signed a decree on August 27, 2025. This decree announced the names of five candidates who passed the preliminary qualification examination. These candidates will interview and present their vision on September 3, 2025.

The candidates, who will present their vision and management guidelines of the Oil Fuel Fund Office (OFO) to the Selection Subcommittee, include Lieutenant General Dr. Kritapas Kongkapisut, Mr. Pornchai Chirakulpaisan, Mr. Somboon Nokkaew, Mr. Phetthai Mudtham, and Ms. Pailin Fungkiat. This presentation is scheduled for September 3, 2025, and will be a critical step in the selection process.

Mr. Watanapong, Chairman of the Selection Subcommittee, stated that this marks the second round of recruitment for the Oil Fund Office Director. The initial application phase did not meet the selection criteria. During the vision presentation, the Selection Subcommittee will evaluate candidates based on their qualifications, experience, management style, and suitability for the position. The subcommittee intends to submit a nomination to the Oil Fund Management Committee (OFMC) and announce the appointment of the new Oil Fund Office Director by September 2025.
