Bangsaen: Fireworks set off during a countdown celebration at Bangsaen Beach resulted in a fire that consumed two restaurants, sending tourists fleeing in panic. Although the chaotic scene saw tourists running for their lives, no injuries were reported. The incident unfolded just moments after the fireworks display began, with firework debris igniting the thatched roof of a popular beachfront restaurant.
According to Thai News Agency, the fire prompted an immediate response from Saensuk Municipality and neighboring areas, with a total of eight fire trucks dispatched to contain the blaze. Firefighters battled the flames for over an hour before finally bringing the situation under control. The initial police investigation suggests that firework remains ignited the roof, but forensic experts are expected to conduct a thorough examination to confirm the cause.
As of this morning, firefighters returned to the scene to ensure that strong winds did not reignite the fire. Preliminary assessments indicate that two prominent restaurants suffered significant damage, with their roof structures and dining areas affected. The fire also spread to a neighboring shop, inflicting damage on its kitchen and dining spaces.
