Expressway Authority of Thailand Confirms Safe Operations Despite Earthquake Impact

Bangkok: The governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand has confirmed that expressways are operating normally on all routes, with the exception of the Din Daeng toll plaza entrance and exit. This announcement comes in the wake of a recent earthquake that struck on March 28, 2025, at approximately 1:25 p.m.

According to Thai News Agency, an emergency inspection was conducted in line with the guidelines outlined in the Expressway Structure Inspection Manual. The inspection revealed that all expressway structures remained unaffected by the earthquake, maintaining their stability and strength. Furthermore, a thorough examination of the expansion joints on the road surface showed no signs of expansion or displacement.

The Expressway Authority of Thailand has assured the public that all expressways can be used safely as usual. However, the on- and off-ramps in the Din Daeng area remain closed due to debris that fell onto the expressway surface. The Authority is currently assessing the structural safety in this area to facilitate a reopening as soon as possible.
