Election Commission Sends Teams to Oversee Rally and Prepares for Voting Campaign

Bangkok: "Saeng" has dispatched a team to inspect the final stage of the rally, questioning whether there was any transportation or hiring of people involved in the last-minute speech. Preparations are underway to integrate the election result reporting system of the Provincial Administrative Organization with the Smart Vote app. A nationwide event, dubbed "Big Day," is scheduled for January 28 to encourage citizens to vote on February 1.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sawang Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC), discussed arrangements for media to access links to report election results from the 76 provincial administrative organizations at the Election Commission office on February 1. The data will also be linked to the Smart Vote application, with continuous updates expected one hour after polls close at 5:00 p.m.

Addressing concerns about potential app crashes from high traffic, Mr. Sawang assured that measures are in place to prevent signal delays that could disrupt the result reporting process. He emphasized the importance of resolving these issues to ensure timely updates.

On January 28, the EC office will host a "Big Day" in all 76 provinces to encourage voting. The campaign will feature 'Nong Moo Deng' to add charm and draw attention to the election, aiming to increase voter turnout.

Mr. Saeng also highlighted the Election Commission's efforts during the final stages of the provincial elections, stating that observers were sent to monitor compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Reports have emerged regarding the transportation of people to campaign events, and these incidents are currently under review by provincial authorities and election inspectors.
