Election Commission Opens Applications for Sisaket By-Election for MP in Constituency 5

Sisaket: The Election Commission (EC) is set to commence the application process for the by-election of a Member of Parliament in Constituency 5, Sisaket.

According to Thai News Agency, applications will be accepted from July 14 to July 18, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at the Khun Han District Office's meeting room, located on the second floor.

The EC has outlined that interested candidates must prepare a comprehensive set of documents. These include copies of their national ID cards and house registration, medical certificates, and a certificate from the party leader that verifies completion of procedures as per the Organic Act on Political Parties. Candidates must also provide evidence of personal income tax payments for 2022, 2023, and 2024 or a letter explaining the absence of tax payments. Additionally, a 10,000-baht application fee and 10 full-face photographs are required.

Candidates must also submit documentation proving their continuous residence or connection to Sisaket Province for at least five years. Failure to meet the qualifications or possessing prohibited characteristics can lead to severe penalties, including imprisonment, fines, and revocation of voting rights. The by-election is scheduled for August 10.
