Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, the Minister of Education, emphasized the importance of preparedness to ensure student safety and urged immediate assistance for schools already affected.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Narumon received reports detailing the impact of the severe tropical storm on educational institutions. Five schools have already been affected and flooded, including three schools in Chumphon Province: Ban Khao Bo School, Ban Khanthasap School, and Ban Nang Khoi School. In response, a total of 496 schools in the Nan and Chiang Rai Provinces have been closed as a precautionary measure.

School administrators and teachers in affected regions have been instructed to monitor the situation closely and provide continuous updates. In the event of damage to educational facilities, immediate reporting and assistance are required. The Minister stressed the importance of considering school closures if conditions remain hazardous due to the storm, prioritizing the safety of students.

Once the situation stabilizes and water levels recede, an assessment of damages, particularly concerning electrical hazards, will be conducted to ensure safety before resuming regular school activities.
