Bangkok: Drones have been detected flying over military and government offices in various areas, signaling a potential threat and attempted surveillance. The Royal Thai Air Force has reported these sightings as a serious concern for national security.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Air Force announced on Facebook that multiple drones have been observed attempting to survey military and government installations across Thailand. This activity is seen as a significant threat, suggesting efforts to gather intelligence that could harm both military and civilian infrastructure. In response, military and security officials have been authorized to deploy anti-drone systems to neutralize these threats immediately. Those found guilty of such espionage activities affecting national security face severe penalties, including life imprisonment or the death penalty.
The current tension between Thailand and Cambodia necessitates increased vigilance. Drones represent a substantial threat to the security and safety of Thai citizens. Consequently, the Air Force has appealed to the public for cooperation. Citizens who observe or have information about drone flights, or those found operating drones in violation of the law, are urged to contact the security hotline 1374 or nearby government agencies at any time.
