Dr. Ming Criticizes Thai Use of Fake News on Cambodia for National Weakening

Bangkok: Dr. Ming has publicly criticized Thais for propagating fake news about Cambodia, suggesting it undermines national strength and diverts focus from pressing national issues. She emphasized the government's commitment to safeguarding sovereignty and the interests of the populace.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Ming disclosed that Paetongtarn's cabinet meeting was conducted over Zoom, stressing that the Prime Minister's physical presence in court is less significant compared to the nation's challenges. She expressed confidence in the correctness of her actions, while Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, mentioned that the Prime Minister had submitted a written statement to the court, trusting in a favorable judgment.

Dr. Prommin further explained that the Prime Minister's court appearance is overshadowed by national concerns, particularly those at the border, which have transitioned from military operations to foreign affairs and intelligence. He highlighted the Foreign Minister's European visit to address key issues like the Ottawa Convention and MOU 43.

Regarding Cambodia's tactics of using civilians as shields, Dr. Prommin stated that Thailand must adjust its operations in line with legal standards. The NCPO has directed collaboration among the military, police, and Ministry of Interior to adapt strategies accordingly. He stressed the necessity of unity among the people, government, and military to defend Thai sovereignty.

Dr. Prommin reflected on the potential consequences of the case, warning against the spread of fake news that aims to destabilize Thailand. He noted that political motives often overshadow national interest, identifying this as a significant threat to the Thai people. He reiterated the government's resolve to protect the nation and its citizens, especially if the Prime Minister returns after August 29th, with hopes for improved border conditions.
