District Chief of Plai Phraya Transferred Following Gambling Den Raid

Bangkok: The District Chief of Plai Phraya has been transferred following the arrest of a significant gambling operation located in a palm plantation. The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration issued an order for the transfer, which was a direct consequence of this incident.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nanticha Kerdkaew, the District Chief of Plai Phraya District in Krabi Province, has been reassigned to work at the College of Local Administration starting from May 23, 2025. This decision followed a raid on the evening of May 21, when the Department of Provincial Administration's special operations unit carried out Operation 'Bong La Fai.' The operation targeted a gambling den situated in Tambon Khao To, Amphoe Plai Phraya, resulting in the arrest of over 70 gamblers.

Initial investigations revealed that the gambling den operated with a monthly turnover exceeding 12 million baht. All arrested individuals have been taken to the Krabi Provincial Civil Court for further legal proceedings.
