Chiang Mai: The Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has ordered the dismissal of the Director of Kai Palo School and has immediately set up a fact-finding committee as a result of the issue regarding students' breakfast.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Col. Thanu Wongchinda, Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission, revealed that the decision follows an incident highlighted on social media, where a school in Chiang Mai Province provided students with rice, chicken stew, and one boiled egg for breakfast. This revelation has prompted swift action from the OBEC.
The Office of the Basic Education Commission has been proactive in addressing the matter, initiating the setup of a fact-finding committee to ensure a thorough investigation. This committee aims to gather complete facts and ensure fairness to all parties involved. Meanwhile, the director of the implicated school will be temporarily transferred to the Office of Special Education Administration until the investigation concludes, to prevent any administrative issues within the school.
The OBEC has committed to closely monitoring the situation. Furthermore, all educational service area offices have been instructed to supervise the educational institutions under their jurisdiction more diligently. These offices are to ensure that all projects are implemented in strict accordance with regulations, emphasizing transparency and accountability for the benefit of both students and teachers.
