Bangkok: The entrance and exit of the Din Daeng Toll Plaza are scheduled to reopen tomorrow at 5:00 AM. 'Suriya' has instructed the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) to prepare for the reopening. Meanwhile, the high-rise building contractor is coordinating with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to remove the remaining crane parts, aiming for late-night operations to prevent traffic disruption. The Ministry of Transport assures that the road network remains unaffected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, reported that the earthquake on March 28, 2025, resulted in a construction crane falling near the Din Daeng Tollway entrance-exit. Although EXAT was not directly involved, it assisted in equipment transportation and crane dismantling, working with relevant agencies to restore normal travel conditions.
The high-rise building contractor has made progress in removing the crane parts, with the advisory team on the demolition of the Asaba Vibha-Victory tower crane project confirming that work is on schedule. Some crane parts remain but are securely fastened. The contractor will collaborate with BMA to finalize dismantling methods, conducting the work at night to reduce traffic impact. Public updates on the start of dismantling will be provided, with assurances of safety for road users. EXAT plans to open the Din Daeng tollway entrance and exit on the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway from 5:00 AM on March 31, 2025, to ease area traffic congestion while ensuring safety.
Mr. Suriya emphasized that the Ministry of Transport's road network, including the Department of Highways (DOH), the Department of Rural Roads (DRR), and EXAT, sustained no damage from the earthquake. The network is prepared to support efficient, convenient, and safe public travel. For travel issues or inquiries, the Transport Safety Center hotline at 1356 is available 24 hours a day.
