Bangkok: The government has announced an invitation to the public to watch the "Thai Opportunity" program this Sunday, July 20, where Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Phumtham Vejjayachai, will be interviewed. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, shared that the program will be broadcast on the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT2HD) and the Public Relations Department's radio network across the country. The discussion will focus on drug suppression and social order.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham will elaborate on the "Seal Stop Safe" policy, which aims to tackle drug issues by targeting Thailand's role as a transit point rather than a production hub. The strategy involves collaboration among military, police, administrative officials, customs, ISOC, and other agencies overseeing 14 provinces and 51 border districts. The initiative aims to expand operations nationwide, covering all 76 provinces and 878 districts to curb illegal activities.
Mr. Jirayu further explained that key performance indicators (KPIs) and an action plan are in place to provide a structured framework for these efforts. The discussion will also highlight regional cooperation with countries in the Mekong Subregion and the ASEAN region.
The program "Thai Opportunity" will air on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand and other national channels. Viewers are encouraged to tune in to gain insights into the government's proactive measures against drug problems.
