Bangkok: "Decha Isara" has accepted the Democrat Party's vote of confidence in the Prime Minister with 21 votes, while another 4 abstained based on their privileges, affirming that there is no issue in collaborating with coalition parties, as they have previously supported the laws.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Decha Isara Khaothong, the Secretary-General of the Democrat Party, disclosed after the vote of confidence in Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra that the Democrat Party holds 25 votes. The party granted its MPs the privilege to vote as they deemed appropriate, resulting in 21 MPs expressing confidence and 4 abstaining, consistent with prior reports.
Mr. Decha Isara further addressed concerns about the behavior of the 4 abstainers as coalition party members, stating that they must adhere to the party's resolution. Historically, when evaluating various government draft laws, these 4 MPs abstained, yet it did not hinder their cooperation. Nonetheless, they are entitled to exercise their MP privileges during no-confidence debates.
