Bangkok: Cyber police are intensifying their investigation into the financial activities of a female golfer linked to online gambling activities. So far, no involvement of monks has been detected in this case.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol Maj Gen Sirawat Deepo, Commander of the Technology Crime Investigation Division 1, disclosed the progress in tracing the financial trail potentially associated with the online gambling website operated by Ms. Golf. Ms. Golf has reportedly cooperated with the investigators by providing information related to the gambling site. Initial findings indicate that she placed bets amounting to 500,000 baht, with losses reaching up to 10 million baht.
Currently, no charges have been filed against Ms. Golf. Authorities are in the process of obtaining bank statements to confirm whether actual transfers were made to the gambling platform. Should evidence of such transfers emerge, Ms. Golf will be summoned and charged with gambling, with prosecution handled separately.
Regarding the financial transactions between Ms. Golf and monks she is acquainted with, the Anti-Corruption Division is leading the investigation. However, the Cyber Police are also examining any possible financial links to the gambling website. Should any connections be established, those involved will face prosecution for gambling offenses. Thus far, no monks have been implicated in the online gambling activities.
