Cyber Police Conclude Investigation into Leaked Audio Clip Involving Hun Sen

Bangkok: Cyber police are preparing to conclude the investigation of a leaked audio clip case and send it to the Anti-Money Laundering Office. The investigation involves prosecuting Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate and former Prime Minister of Cambodia, regarding a leaked conversation with Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Investigation Division, reported the progress after Mr. Somkid Chuekong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, filed a complaint against Samdech Hun Sen. The investigation, led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Sirawat Deepo, has concluded with documentary evidence from the complainant and additional findings by the Cyber Police. Pol. Lt. Col. Sirawat indicated that the evidence aligns with offenses under Thai law, and the case will soon be forwarded to the Attorney General for further consideration.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong explained that offenses committed outside Thailand but impacting the country fall under Thai jurisdiction. The Attorney General will be responsible for the investigation, which could involve the public prosecutor, the police, or both.

Additionally, the Technology Crime Suppression Division is reviewing the case of former Phra Thep Wachirapamok, also known as 'Chao Khun Achwa', who disrobed in Nong Khai Province. Despite rumors linking him to online gambling, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong stated that there is no current evidence of his involvement. If future investigations reveal a connection, further inquiries will be conducted.
