CSD Operation Targets Udon Thani Karaoke Shop for Child Trafficking

Udon thani: The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) executed a strategic operation aimed at dismantling a human trafficking network in Udon Thani, resulting in the arrest of a 46-year-old woman involved in illicit activities. The woman was managing a karaoke shop as a front for child prostitution.

According to Thai News Agency, the Human Trafficking Suppression Division police apprehended Ms. Siricharnya at the karaoke establishment located in Non Kok Bak Alley, Ban Dung District. She was charged with human trafficking offenses, including exploiting minors for prostitution. The operation revealed her method of attracting underage girls into the illegal trade.

An undercover agent, pretending to be a customer, initiated contact with the establishment, where three underage girls offered their services for 1,500 baht each. The agent paid a total of 4,500 baht to the shop owner before leading them to a nearby resort where law enforcement was stationed. Upon searching Ms. Siricharnya, officers found 4,300 baht in cash, serving as evidence. The suspect admitted to operating the karaoke venue and recruiting young girls, who received 1,200 baht each while she withheld a 300 baht commission. The minors involved were all identified as 16 years old.
