Criminals Ignite Fire at Biomass Power Plant in Narathiwat Province

Narathiwat: Criminals set fire to a backhoe at a biomass power plant in Waeng District, Narathiwat Province. Three loud explosions resembling explosions were heard. The incident occurred late last night, August 15th, at the construction site on the last hill of the biomass power plant owned by Fire of Wood Green Energy Co., Ltd. in Ban Sala Uma, Village No. 9, Kayukla Subdistrict, Waeng District, Narathiwat Province. A massive fire broke out. According to Thai News Agency, Waeng Police Station officers inspected the area and found three locations where arson had been set: a backhoe, a six-wheel truck, and a bulldozer or rubber-wheeled vehicle. Three loud explosions were also heard. An assessment suggests that more than 10 perpetrators infiltrated the plant behind the Golok River and dispersed to cause the fire. The explosion-like noise remains to be determined, as it could be attributed to a specific location or whether it originated from the fuel tanks of the backhoe and six-wheel truck.
