Nonthaburi: Today, the court has scheduled a hearing for the verdict of the "Tangmo case". It is hoped that the 4 defendants will be acquitted or imprisoned.
According to Thai News Agency, after the Nonthaburi Provincial Court scheduled the examination of the defendant's witness in the "Tangmo case" on February 13, Ms. Pattaratida or Nida Patcharawirapong, a young actress who fell from a speedboat and died in 2022, which was the last examination of the defendant's witness, Mr. Pheem or M Thammathirasri. After the examination of the defendant's witnesses was completed, the court scheduled the hearing of the verdict today at 9:30 a.m.
The draft verdict will be sent to the Office of the Chief Justice of Region 1 for review before the verdict in the Tangmo case is complete. We have to wait and see how the court will rule. Will it follow the lawsuit that it was negligence causing another person's death or will the case be dismissed? If it is dismissed, an appeal must be made within 1 month. If the plaintiff wins the case, it is the defendant's duty to appeal. Today, all 4 defendants must come to hear the verdict: San, Kratik, Job, and Phim.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Assoc. Prof. Panathep Puapongphan, Dean of the College of Oriental Medicine, Rangsit University, as the chairman of the Yam Faeo Phaendin Foundation, said that he had submitted a case for the DSI to consider whether there was a government official who neglected his duty or acted improperly in order to make this case a case of negligence causing death or not.
From inquiries to the DSI, it was found that the case has two obstacles. The first is the original file of Tangmo's body and the scan results of the body, which the police and doctors claim to have sent to the prosecutor. This is the main reason why the Tangmo case has gone quiet because the relevant officials have not cooperated at all. Therefore, we must wait for the court's ruling today to decide how the case will be decided. It is known that the DSI will call a meeting on the case immediately after this.
Dr. Panathep also said that he believes that after this, the DSI will continue to take action on this matter because he has learned that they are going to collect evidence as tightly as possible in order to upgrade the Tangmo case to a special case.
