Construction Accident at Orange Line Project: Rescue Efforts Underway for Individual Trapped in Deep Pit

Bangkok: Emergency teams are currently engaged in a rescue operation to assist an individual who fell into a deep hole at the construction site of the Orange Line electric train, specifically the Bang Khun Non-Cultural Center section. The incident occurred when a person fell into a pit, estimated to be between 15 to 19 meters deep, near Soi Lan Luang 8. Rescue officials are on the scene, employing rappelling techniques to reach and assist the trapped individual.

According to Thai News Agency, the accident took place during the construction phase of the Orange Line electric train project. The phase involves the installation of steel casings for soil excavation at the future Lan Luang Station. Initial reports suggest that the mishap may have occurred during the process where steel casings are maneuvered up and down for excavation purposes. Further investigation is required to determine the precise cause of the accident.
