Constitutional Court Enhances Security for Paetongtarn Hearing


Bangkok: The Constitutional Court has implemented stringent security measures for the hearing involving Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who is set to address the court regarding an audio clip involving Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate. Accompanying her is Mr. Chatchai Bangchuad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), both of whom will serve as witnesses to clarify facts to the Constitutional Court judges.



According to Thai News Agency, officials at the Constitutional Court have erected steel barriers to maintain order and ensure the safety of the area. Additionally, EOD officers have deployed K-9 units to monitor the premises. Media personnel have been provided with television screens to capture and listen to the courtroom proceedings, ensuring transparency from the start to the end of the trial.



The Constitutional Court has scheduled the oral statement, consultation, and vote for Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., with the hearing of the verdict set for 3:00 p.m. onwards. These proceedings will take place in the courtroom on the 3rd floor of the Constitutional Court.
