Coalition Parties Maintain Unity in Entertainment Act Draft Withdrawal Vote

Bangkok: Coalition parties successfully maintained unity as they voted to withdraw the Entertainment Act draft, with a final tally of 253 in favor and 66 against.

According to Thai News Agency, the coalition parties uniformly supported the withdrawal of the draft bill concerning the operation of entertainment complexes. Notably, three members from the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT)-Mr. Chukan Kulwongsa, Ms. Prapa Hengpaiboon, and Ms. Oruma Boonsiri-joined in approving the withdrawal. Other supporters included members from different parties who had previously opposed similar legislation, such as Ms. Kritsada Chivathamanon of the Prachachon Party, Ms. Kanchana Chakwang of the Palang Pracharath Party, and Ms. Ramphun Tantiwanichchanon of the Thai Sang Thai Party.

The opposition to the withdrawal, comprising 66 votes, included members from the Bhumjaithai Party and two representatives from the Thai Sang Thai Party: Mr. Rang Thuraphon and Mr. Adisak Kaewmungkuntrakul. Notably absent from the voting were Mr. Chuan Leekpai and Mr. Rachit Sudphum of the Democrat Party, as well as Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan of the Palang Pracharath Party, who opted not to participate in the decision-making process.
