CIB Police Conduct Operation ‘Fast74’, Arrest Young Man on Drugs, Speeding in Pickup Truck, Breaking Through Checkpoint

Nakhon Si Thammarat: CIB police, in operation 'Fast74 Fast and Furious', arrested a young man who was taking drugs and driving a pickup truck through a checkpoint on Highway No. 4103 in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. He had a history of numerous criminal offenses. According to Thai News Agency, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) by the Highway Police Division followed a modified pickup truck after it broke through a checkpoint on Highway No. 4103, Pak Phun Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. When the pickup truck reached the checkpoint in the far right lane, where there were many cars waiting to enter the checkpoint, the pickup truck accelerated, swerved into the far left lane, broke through traffic cones and flares placed as a barrier, and crashed into several police officers standing there. Fortunately, they were able to jump out of the way in time. The police chased after the car, which fled towards Thasala District, turned left at Bangpoo Intersection, and dr ove at high speed despite heavy traffic and a large number of vehicles. They chased it to the airport intersection, but when they turned left, they encountered another police checkpoint. The pickup truck still did not stop and crashed into the police. Then the police signaled for the driver to get out of the car. The driver was identified as Mr. Supachai, aged 35. A search of the vehicle found a variety of illegal items, including a semi-automatic handgun in a camouflage backpack, with ammunition in the gun. The vehicle's chassis number did not match the license plate, and there were also fake license plates and tax stamps. Mr. Supachai stated that he bought the car from Ms. May for 200,000 baht in 2024. He only knew that it was a forecl osed car. As for the gun, he bought it from Mr. Den for 25,000 baht. He knew that it was a gun that he had pawned and sold to him. He admitted that he had been using methamphetamine before being arrested. The police took a urine sample and tested positive. When checking Mr. Suphakorn's history, it was found that he had committed crimes 7 times, including drug, gun, life and body crimes. Therefore, he was taken into custody to proceed with legal action.
