Kab Choeng: The first day of the Chong Chom border checkpoint closure saw a calm and controlled environment. The border crossing in Kab Choeng District, Surin Province, was closed without incident. On the Cambodian side, authorities used iron barriers as a countermeasure.
According to Thai News Agency, reporters observed the scene at the Chong Chom checkpoint in Ban Dan, Dan Subdistrict, noting that the entrance and exit gates were securely locked. Soldiers from the Suranaree Force were present to ensure the safety of the local population and to manage the border closure in the event of any border clashes.
At around 10:00 a.m., Cambodian soldiers fortified their side of the gate with iron sheets and maintained a guard presence. The border crossing is scheduled to operate only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with the export of construction materials like cement temporarily halted.
