Cabinet Secretary Confirms New Cabinet Members Are Undergoing Qualification Review

Bangkok: The Cabinet Secretary confirmed that the new Cabinet list is still undergoing qualification review, stating that the current standards will be used to support the Constitutional Court's decision, with hopes for it to be finalized this week. Cabinet Secretary Natcharee Anantasin has admitted that the names of ministers in the new government will be gradually submitted, as stated in an interview with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. According to Thai News Agency, the qualifications will be checked by six agencies, as in previous times, including the Office of the Council of State, in case of problems. However, so far, no agency has sent back the list. Ms. Natcharee emphasized that the review will take time, as this is a completely new cabinet. Even though there are some old ministers, the review must be done to avoid any problems, as it is impossible to predict what might happen along the way. When news emerged that some names had not passed the qualifications check, Ms. Natcharee immediately resp onded that it was not yet complete. However, in the case that some names did not pass, it might be the Prime Minister's business. As for whether the inspection will be completed within this week, Ms. Natcharee said she will try to do so in time, but it will depend on the inspection agency, which will adhere to the existing standards, along with the rulings of the Constitutional Science Institute, which have established the standards.
