Bangkok: BTS Skytrain has made a significant donation of 100 million baht to assist frontline personnel serving in Thailand and Cambodia.
According to Thai News Agency, BTS Skytrain donated 50 million baht to the military, which will be divided among the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Navy, and Royal Thai Air Force. This contribution aims to provide assistance and compensation to personnel injured, disabled, or deceased due to ongoing situations along the Thai-Cambodian border. The funds will also support the families of affected personnel.
Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS), led the initiative, expressing his concern and support for the army and its frontline soldiers. He highlighted his previous donation of 50 million baht to the government, bringing the total contribution to 100 million baht. This gesture reflects his commitment to supporting those who have sacrificed for their country.
Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the Second Army Region, expressed gratitude for the donation and assured that the funds would be utilized effectively. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, noting that a portion of the donation would aid affected soldiers and families, while another portion would enhance military technology to improve operations.
