Pattani: A bomb planted under a vehicle belonging to the Village Defense Volunteers of Kapho District exploded on Highway 4060, along the Buri-Rueso Line, resulting in injuries to four individuals. The incident is suspected to have been orchestrated by insurgents targeting the officers.
According to Thai News Agency, the explosion occurred on Highway 4060, Buri-Rueso Road, in Village 2, Karubi Subdistrict, approximately 800 meters from the local police station. The vehicle was owned by Kapho District Defense Volunteers. Among the injured was Ms. Suriyanee, aged 40, who sustained multiple burns to her torso and was swiftly transported to Kapho Hospital for treatment.
Investigations revealed that Ms. Suriyanee was en route to the Kapho District Office when her vehicle exploded from beneath. She managed to exit the vehicle quickly, ensuring her safety. The explosion also caused injuries to three nearby villagers. The authorities believe the attack was carried out by insurgents with the intent to harm the officers.
